Activating a community to appreciate a new culturally relevant green space

How do you move a community to visit a new urban park that just launched the first phase of a 10 year development plan?

The San Antonio River Foundation (SARA) and their marketing agency hired Sweb to bring the artwork, cultural history, and natural beauty of the park to an online audience.

There were two goals that we were in agreement on for this project.

Attract people to the park and get them interested in development, expansion, and inclusion of local art.
Convey to the community that this was just the beginning of a much larger project that was meant to transform Downtown San Antonio.

Attracting residents and tourists to the park

The San Pedro Creek site needed to immerse visitors in the unique sights and experiences of the park. We accomplished this through an interactive custom map, immersive photography and videography, and a clear structure to guide visitors. This truly made visitors of all ages a real part of the experience while giving local artists a chance for exposure to an interested community.

Showcasing what’s to come

The second goal we set out to achieve was to also illustrate the multi-year vision for planned expansion of the TKTK. Using the site and interactive components throughout the park, the community was given a peek as to what the future growth of this park would be in the years to come. It was meant to market that the City of San Antonio was investing in its core, but also to excite those looking for more green space in our city.

Working under a tight deadline to launch in time for a long-planned grand opening celebration, we developed both a fully-responsive WordPress website as well as an award-winning native app for iOS and Android. This site is Level A compliant with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and won a Gold Hermes Award.
