The Hurt Hub and Davidson College reached out to Sweb after a mutual connection was introduced to the work we’ve done in the past with various brands in multiple industries.

Challenge

Despite having an existing online presence, what existed did not position The Hurt Hub as a key resource that Davidson College offered.

To solve the issues that The Hurt Hub and Davidson College had encountered, Sweb applied the following:

To help clarify the audiences that The Hurt Hub serves, Sweb created an interactive homepage design that asks users to self-identify what kind of user they are (Student, Alumni, Co-Worker, Community Member). Upon selection, quick access to all the pages most relevant to the user are provided. This design was not only the easiest for users to navigate, but also has an innovative look that stands out among other websites from similar centers.

To streamline the site's content, we set up audience-specific landing pages (Students, Alumni, and Co-Worker). The previous site had information important for each kind of user throughout a number of interior pages that were hard to navigate through. These new audience-specific landing pages brought clarity to what the Hurt Hub offers each user by condensing dozens of pages from the old site into just a couple sections of content.

To meet site accessibility standards, Sweb carefully curated the design’s color, making sure every bit of text has the necessary contrast with its background. Further, while we put a lot of effort into making an innovative, interactive, and beautiful site, we also made sure it worked for users that navigate sites with screen readers. Every element is coded to make sure such accessibility devices can move through the site.
