1. Hootsuite Acquires Snapchat Analytics Tool From Naritiv

Although Hootsuite doesn’t see a lot of activity from its customers on Snapchat, the social media management tool just acquired Naritiv, a tool for tracking Snapchat analytics. Brands and businesses are migrating to where the customers are, and Snapchat is one of the most engaging social platforms of the moment.

2. Apple’s New Clips App Makes Social Videos For Other Social Networks

Apple has announced a new social video app that will let users ‘clip’ together photos and videos for use on other social networks. There’s a lot of speculation over whether this a precursor to a bigger project down the line for Apple, but for now, this will be another fun tool to add to your video-making kit.

3. Adobe Launches Experience Cloud, An Ads Management Suite

Adobe’s new Experience Cloud isn’t so much a product as it is an umbrella for all of its other suites, including its Advertising, Analytics, and Marketing Clouds. And the Experience Cloud is built to work seamlessly with the Adobe Creative Cloud and Document Cloud suites.

4. Facebook Just Changed The Mobile Web Landscape With Header Bidding

Facebook is upping its advertising game with the recent announcement that it will be moving advertiser demand away from its Audience network to mobile web publishers that use header bidding. This will put Facebook advertising in direct competition with Google.

5. Facebook Live Adds PC Game And Desktop Livestreaming

In another expansion, Facebook is bringing live gaming to its desktop livestreaming, and looks like it will continue to have a leg up on other livestreaming platforms.

6. More Organizations And Celebrities Can Now Post On Google With Posts On Google

Initially, Google Posts was launched during the 2016 U.S. presidential election and was only available to candidates. Now it is opening the service up to celebrities and organizations like museums and sports teams. The posts show up as Twitter-like status updates directly within Google search. It is still limited to users through an application process, however.

7. Instagram Hits 1 Million Advertisers, Fueled By Small Businesses

Instagram’s monthly advertisers are up by 5 times from where it was a year ago, and the majority of those users are small businesses. Combined with its free analytics tools, Instagram plans to continue releasing new free tools to business users.

8. Instagram Will Let Businesses Add A ‘Book Appointment’ Button

One of Instagram’s newest free tool announcements is its ‘book appointment’ button. Although transactions will not be made through Instagram (at least for now), it will give customers the ability to book appointments directly through a business profile page.

9. Why Every Business Needs A Website

Although social media platforms are a great tool for businesses, especially at the get-go, they don’t replace the full benefits of having a website. The majority of customers use the internet to find businesses before anything else, especially if they’re new to an area.
