1. Instagram Cloning Snapchat Reveals A Huge Problem With The Social Network

There are many different thoughts and opinions about Instagram’s new Stories feature, one being that it shows proof of vulnerability in its popularity. One internal survey shows that teens delete half of the photos they share when they don’t get enough ‘likes,’ making ephemeral social content all the more appealing. Will this be the decline of Instagram? We don’t think so, but times are changing, and Instagram may go the way of Facebook as an “old-people” app–and for those who are diehard photography fans, of course.

2. Facebook Is Testing Video Ads During Live Broadcasts

It’s inevitable that any popular social outlet will eventually bring in advertisers, and it’s no different with Facebook’s Live Videos. Facebook is currently testing ads during Live broadcasts, but it is uncertain on how exactly they will work–and whether broadcasters will be able to control when the ads appear or if they can opt out of them altogether.

3. LinkedIn Moves Into Video, Starting With Quora-Style Q&A From Influencers

LinkedIn is joining the video sphere, with its new feature Record. Currently open only to a select number of influencers, the hope is to engage more people in the platform, and possible open up to all users in the future.

4. 5 Social Media Marketing Trends For Summer 2016

Social media marketing changes in the blink of an eye. Some of the major trends this summer have included live video, augmented reality, and the death of the social channel buy button.

5. Facebook’s New Page Sections Help Small Businesses Actually Make Money

Facebook is launching to new business page options which would allow businesses to list products and services directly on Facebook, and allow customers to purchase those products and services via Messenger.

6. Google Built An Adorable Maps Game That’s Not Pokémon Go

If you’re not quite into the Pokémon Go craze–especially for your kids–Google has created a new game called Verne: The Himalayas which uses 3D imagery to play in and explore the region. Another plus side? You’re kids will learn cool facts about the area as they play–and won’t be running into any poles along the way.

7. This Impressive New App Is Like Prisma, But For Video

Adding fun filters to your photos been popular for a fairly long time in the app world, and now a new app called Artisto lets you add similar filters to your videos. Video clips are limited in length, but the app processes the changes impressively quick and the results are fun to see.

8. 7 Glaring Signs You’re Due For A Website Redesign

An outdated look isn’t the only reason to have your site redesigned. (And we know a thing or two about helping businesses with that!).

9. Google Is Sending YouTube Stars To Rio To Livestream The Olympics

In addition to sending YouTube influencers to film live coverage of various games and events during the Olympics (which kick-off tomorrow), Google is ramping up coverage with the ability to find schedules via Search, and 360-degree footage of the games via maps.

10. Google Is Bringing AMP To Mobile Search So It Will Be The New Normal

Google’s version of instant articles is making it’s way to search and will soon feature any site using AMP (Accelerated Mobile Pages) coding–and will be extending to ads, too.
