After hackers gained access to a document contain Dropbox user email addresses back in 2012, it has now been disclosed that they also gained access to encrypted passwords–68 million of them! 8. Facebook Messenger Adds ‘Instant Video,’ Basically Video Chat On Steroids
Although Facebook already gives users the option to video chat within its Messenger App, it is has created a hybrid feature which allows you to video chat and share text messages at the same time. Looks like they won’t be giving up on imitating taking over Snapchat anytime soon.
9. WhatsApp Is Sharing Data With Facebook. How Will Marketers Benefit?
WhatsApp has updated its privacy policy, and is now sharing data with parent company Facebook, with the intent of more targeted ads. All of your conversations within WhatsApp will now become data rich content for Facebook. This gives marketers access to more direct information about what consumers are really talking about–not just what they’re sharing publicly and with friends on Facebook. There is an option to opt out of the feature on WhatsApp.
