If you’ve got a smartphone, then it’s likely you’ve done some work on it. In a recent study, at least 50% of respondents claimed to check work emails on their smartphones in their free time. Businesses of all sizes are investing in apps that help employees work remotely without missing a step. This can mean anything from accessing documents to read or edit, answering emails, and uploading or sharing files.
A recent Rackspace study found that workers in the United States and the United Kingdom are using their mobile devices for work, with no signs of slowing down. A whopping 66 percent of U.S. and U.K. respondents have demanded apps for their employees so that they have access to internal systems while away from the office. This aligns perfectly with the type of work we have done for a variety of businesses ranging from very small to large, international companies.
For businesses on the hunt for an app developer, there are some basic rules that apply when looking for the right agency partner. It’s also helpful to have at least a basic understanding of each of the mobile ecosystems so you have a better idea of what you need. Our expertise in mobile app development has been the key to hundreds of successfully launched applications.
For example, it’s not surprising that some people don’t know that there’s a difference between developing for iOS and Android, but “one size fits all” does NOT apply here. Distinct coding languages and vastly different ecosystems require different approaches. Connecting to a company’s existing database or systems is possible, but does require building a bridge between the system and the app, which can be accomplished through APIs (Application Programming Interface), RSS, or a variety of other solutions.
This may all be Greek to you, but that’s where we come in. We simplify the process of connecting your employees to the systems they need to access, so you can focus on running your business.
