1. Twitter Adds Stickers For Photos And Lets You Search Them Like Hashtags

Twitter is adding the ability to use stickers on photos–with a twist–you can search them like hashtags. Click on a sticker in a tweet and it will show you how other people are using the same sticker. The new feature is rolling out now and will be available to everyone on iOS and Android within a few weeks.

2. Facebook Rolls Out Slideshow Movie-Maker

With the ever rising popularity of video, Facebook is rolling out a new feature called Slideshow which encourages and guides users in creating simple videos from their most recent photos and video clips. Each slideshow is automatically composed for you, with the ability to add or remove images and choose from different themes for your slideshow.

3. Google Is Reportedly Working On Its Own Line Of Smartphones

Up until now Google has licensed the Nexus line of phones with a few different companies, but the tech giant wants to start developing its own smartphones in the near future, which would allow them to control everything about the Android ecosystem.

4. Twitter Launches New Dashboard App For Small Businesses

In an effort to help small businesses better manage and monitor their accounts, Twitter has created a new dashboard that allows them to monitor who’s talking about their brand as well as schedule and analyze their tweet performance. Unlike many similar platforms, this new dashboard is free.

5. Amazon Unveils Online Education Service For Teachers

Amazon is venturing into the education technology market for primary and secondary educators just in time for back-to-school season. It will be introducing a new online marketplace called Amazon Inspire, with free lesson plans, worksheets, and other instructional materials.

6. Facebook Is Cutting Traffic To Publishers In Favor Of User-Generated Content

In the latest tweak of its algorithm, Facebook will now be showing users more content from people they know versus brands and sponsored content. Publishers are expected to see a small but noticeable decrease in organic reach, which seems to suggest that Facebook is pushing more and more for brands to pay for reaching their target audiences.

7. Pinterest Soon Launching A Way To Search For Products With Your Smartphone Camera

Pinterest’s newest shopping feature will allow users to take photos of the objects around them in real life, pulling up suggested products related to what’s identified in the photo. With the update to visual search capabilities with a user’s camera, this places Pinterest closer to the initial inspiration to purchase and item, and bodes well to help Pinterest grow as a major contender in the mobile consumer buying economy.

8. Snapchat Just Launched Its New Digital Magazine

Snapchat has a new online magazine which will feature daily essays and columns focusing on how we live with technology. Although Snapchat will have ownership as the funder of the magazine, the Real Life site will have editorial independence regarding the content.

9. Facebook Messenger Now Has Over 11,000 Chatbots

Since launching in April, Facebook Messenger now has over 11,000 chatbots, and more than 23,000 people have registered for the Bot Engine Tool, Facebook’s natural language processing service for developers. Messenger users are now able to rate and review chatbots, providing feedback for the bot developers only at this time. One of the major changes in chatbots is that they can now send videos, audio clips, GIFs, and other files.

10. People Are Sharing Less On Instagram

People are posting fewer photos on the popular photo app than they were in the early days, although Instagram’s overall popularity isn’t slowing having just crossed the 500 million mark for monthly users.
